About Us

Bought by abuelo Alvaro Salazar in 1970, the ### acre Hacienda located in Arbolitos, Sarapiquí has been for decades the Salazar family place for retreat and relaxation.

Nestled between Sarapiquí river and a generous portion of primary rainforest (almost 2/3 of the property), the family house stands tall surrounded by pastures and hills.

Originally built with wood lumbered from the nearby trees, and construction materials moved by boat through the river, the house has passed the trial of time and has been recently renovated (early 2025) to indulge its guests with cozy amenities.

Starting in 2019 the Hacienda cattle was replaced with Water Buffalos, after a much thought and learning of the much healthier benefits derived from them, as well as the stronger resilience to the climatic conditions of the place.
